Unleashing Seeing as a Way of Personal Transformation

A WORD FROM KD

An invitation to see differently

Ever look at a painting and not see what everyone else sees?

Ever look at a painting and see only what you’ve been told to see?

Here is an opportunity to open your perception

THE SEMINAR

Exploring the unseen world of the visual arts

We each see in a unique and original way. What we see is affected by who we are. This seminar is an opportunity to explore who we are as bio-psycho-spiritual beings — and how this shapes us as artists and as observers.

Through lecture, story, dialogue, and experimentation, we will explore the interrelationship of the forces that quietly compose every act of seeing:

I

Perception

V

Language

II

Sensation

VI

Non-Verbal Communication

III

Bodily Structure

VII

Meditative States

IV

Movement

VIII

Emotion

THE GOAL

To cultivate a richer experiential and theoretical understanding of who we are as human beings — an understanding that develops greater awareness and responsiveness, and brings greater vitality and authenticity to making and understanding the visual arts.
